Job summary

Grand Central Bakery is seeking a Baker 1 to learn and produce high quality artisan breads while maintaining efficiency and FSMA compliance. You will work in a production team, continually improving skills, and progress to Baker 2 after training demonstrates readiness.

This full-time role is union represented with 7-days-a-week scheduling. Compensation is $22.34/hour, with opportunities for growth and benefits under the collective bargaining agreements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Maintains a valid Food Handler's Card at all times.
• Working knowledge of basic English preferred.
• Regular attendance and punctuality required, including weekends and holidays.
• Professional baking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Bake, mix, form, fermentation, and proofing of all products.
• Understand use of bread production floor equipment.
• Maintain accurate counts and meet quality and pace expectations.
• Follow FSMA guidelines and maintain records for food safety goals.
• Report equipment issues, supply concerns, and cleaning needs to Shift Lead/Manager.
• Communicate final product goals and performance expectations.
