Job summary

Whole Foods Market seeks a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special orders. You will craft designs, ensure quality, and deliver exceptional customer experiences in a fast-paced setting.

You will also mentor Apprentices, maintain cleanliness, and follow safety standards while meeting production goals and quality standards for display and presentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Complete Bakery Decorator Apprentice program, or equivalent.
• Prior bakery or grocery retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, select pastry, and special-order bakery items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes to meet business demand; complete production and spoilage records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise and showcase products in the display case to satisfy customers.
• Provide guidance and support for Apprentices and other Team Members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing customers' needs promptly.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment; follow safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
