Job summary

Eastern Standard Kitchen and Drinks in Boston seeks an experienced Baker/Pasta Maker to join its Bakery and Pastry Department. You will craft breads and viennoiserie, manage mixing times, and help with pasta production for two concepts in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen.

The role requires pastry experience and values strong communication, reliability, and flexibility to daytime, evenings, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous pastry experience is required.
• Pasta making experience is a plus.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication with co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, bake artisan breads, enriched rolls, and viennoiserie.
• Set time and speed controls for mixing or blending machines as instructed.
• Accurately measure flour and ingredients for batters, doughs, fillings, and pastry creams.
• Prepare garnishes for baked goods.
• Maintain stock and proper storage and refrigeration.
• Minimize waste by proper quantities and rotation.
• Clean, breakdown, and store baking equipment (ovens, mixers, proofer, floors, freezer, refrigerators).
• Assist in pasta production for Eastern Standard and Standard Italian.
