Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking Cannon Crewmembers to operate howitzers and related artillery systems, conducting target location and fire direction duties in a high-stakes defense environment. You’ll progress from basic training to advanced individual training, gaining essential skills in communications, gunnery, and field operations.

Qualifications

• Must be physically and mentally fit to perform under pressure.
• Ability to make quick decisions and act decisively.
• Capable of working effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conducting wire and radio communications.
• Identifying target locations.
• Setting, loading and firing artillery.
• Using computers to generate fire direction data.
• Operating heavy and light wheeled trucks and tracked vehicles.
• Transporting and managing artillery ammunition.
• Maintaining operational readiness of vehicles and equipment.
• Participate in reconnaissance operations.
