Job summary

The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking adjunct instructors for Art History and Art Appreciation at CCBC Catonsville and Essex campuses in Maryland. Positions are part-time, day, evening, and weekend slots.

Compensation is $1,085 per credit hour, with opportunities to teach across CCBC campuses. Minimum qualifications include a Master’s in Art History (or related field with credits), plus strong computer and LMS skills. Prior college teaching is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Art History or related field with 18 credits in Art History, or BA in Art History with equivalency/portfolio.
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge.
  • Experience with classroom technology and learning management systems preferred.
  • Two years of teaching experience, preferably at a college level.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfills department and college responsibilities as directed by the program director and/or course coordinator.
  • Abides by College wide policies and procedures regarding classroom conduct.
  • Ensures instruction meets or exceeds standards established by the NASAD.
  • Employs a variety of teaching strategies to meet a diverse student population.
  • Adheres to the scheduled time of class/lab.
  • Develops a course syllabus aligned with program and college policies.
  • Ensures evaluation methods are administered consistently and equitably.
  • Monitors student performance and provides timely feedback.

The Art & Design department seeks part time day, evening, andweekend instructors at Catonsville and Essex, MD campuses for ArtHistory and Art Appreciation.

Adjunct level 1 - $1,085 per credit hour.
Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Art History; or Master’s degree in relatedfield with 18 credits in Art History; or Bachelor’s degree in ArtHistory with qualifying equivalency/portfolio and successfulexperience as a practitioner in the field

  8. Assure that evaluation methods are appropriate and effectivelyassessing the established course objectives
  9. Monitors student performance on a regular basis and providesfeedback within a reasonable timeframe to students

The Roth403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors:TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, PartTime Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save forretirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees maycontribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b)post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combinedfor the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYAFinancial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorizationform is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/HumanResources Forms.
