Job summary

Howard University Gallery of Art (HUGA) seeks an experienced administrator to coordinate gallery programs, procurement, and exhibition initiatives. The role interfaces with curatorial, collection, and university staff to advance daily operations and special projects.

Responsibilities include supporting procurement actions, reconciling program expenditures with budgets, and coordinating events and internships.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience or relevant experience (administrative and development experience).
  • Bachelor’s degree in arts administration/management or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate administrative procedures within the Gallery of Art and act as liaison for events and programming with fine arts and university departments.
  • Manage procurement actions including travel authorizations, contractor services, and student workers.
  • Oversee revolving gallery programs, exhibitions, and related events such as colloquia and festivals.
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and conferences; coordinate travel and lodging for events.
  • Maintain the gallery constituent database and support procurement processes for the department.
