Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) in Anchorage, AK seeks a Transportation Coordinator to plan, schedule, and coordinate inbound/outbound movement of Army equipment during turn-in at a contractor-operated site. Ensure shipments comply with DTR, Army policies, and contract requirements with accurate documentation.

You will work with Army units, warehouse staff, and drivers; maintain logs, use Army systems, and report performance metrics; travel up to 25% and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience may substitute.
• 3–5 years of transportation or logistics coordination experience; Army contractor/military environment preferred.
• Familiarity with Army regulations AR 55-355, AR 710-2, AR 735-5 and DTR 4500.9-R.
• Experience with Army systems TC-AIMS II, GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to read, interpret, and prepare Army transportation forms.
• Excellent communication with Army personnel and contractor staff.
• Knowledge of HAZMAT handling, DOT/OSHA safety, and load securement.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Must be able to travel within the United States up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receipt and shipment of vehicles, equipment, and repair parts turned in by Army units.
• Develop and manage shipment schedules to avoid bottlenecks during mass turn-in operations.
• Liaise with unit supply personnel, warehouse staff, and drivers to ensure smooth cargo flow.
• Prepare and process shipping/receiving documents, including DA Form 1348-1A, DD Form 1149, bills of lading, TCMDs, and load plans.
• Enter movement data into Army logistics/transportation systems (TC-AIMS II, GCSS-Army, DPAS).
• Maintain shipping and receiving logs for audit readiness under ISO 9001:2015 QMS.
• Ensure compliance with DTR 4500.9-R, AR 55-355, AR 710-2, and AR 735-5.
• Verify proper HAZMAT packaging, marking, and labeling for transportation.
• Enforce cargo securement and vehicle safety inspections per Army and OSHA standards.
• Provide daily/weekly movement status reports to Site Manager and COR.
• Track KPIs like on-time shipments, cargo discrepancies, and transit delays.
• Serve as primary Army contact for transportation-related matters.
