Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to plan, schedule, and coordinate inbound/outbound Army equipment during turn-in at a contractor site. You will ensure shipments comply with DTR, Army policies, and contract requirements while maintaining accurate documentation and accountability of government property.

The role requires 3–5 years of transportation coordination experience, familiarity with Army systems, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; relevant work experience acceptable.
• 3–5 years in transportation or logistics coordination; Army contractor or military environment preferred.
• Experience with Army turn-in or SSA operations desirable.
• Familiarity with Army systems: TC-AIMS II, GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP.
• Knowledge of transport documentation, cargo securement, and safety standards.
• Strong organizational and scheduling abilities; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receipt and shipment of vehicles, equipment, and parts from Army units.
• Develop and manage shipment schedules to avoid bottlenecks during mass turn-in operations.
• Liaise with unit staff, warehouse teams, and drivers to ensure smooth cargo flow.
• Prepare shipping/receiving documents (DA 1348-1A, DD 1149, BLs, TCMDs, load plans).
• Enter movement data into Army logistics systems (TC-AIMS II, GCSS-Army, DPAS).
• Maintain shipping/receiving logs for audit readiness under ISO 9001:2015 QMS.
• Ensure compliance with DTR 4500.9-R, AR 55-355, AR 710-2, AR 735-5.
• Verify proper HAZMAT packaging, labeling for transport.
• Enforce cargo securement and vehicle safety inspections.
• Provide daily/weekly movement status reports to Site Manager and COR.
• Track KPIs like on-time shipments, discrepancies, delays.
• Serve as primary contact for Army units on transportation issues.
