Job summary

Akima Global Logistics seeks a Warehouse Specialist at Fort Carson to receive, store, and track Army equipment turn‑ins. You will verify documents, stage items, and maintain accurate inventory in compliance with Army regulations and ISO standards.

This role includes operating MHE, assisting audits, and coordinating with transportation for outbound shipments. Required are 2–4 years in warehouse or logistics, familiarity with Army procedures, and ability to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or relevant work experience.
• 2–4 years warehouse, supply, or logistics experience (Army or contractor preferred).
• Familiarity with Army turn-in and supply procedures desirable.
• Knowledge of Army regulations: AR 710‑2, AR 735‑5, DA PAM 710‑21.
• Experience with GCSS‑Army, LMP, DPAS systems.
• Material handling and warehouse safety practices.
• Strong leadership, organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to read Army documentation (DA & DD forms).
• Forklift/MHE operation certification (OF 346) preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Must have valid driver’s license and proof of insurance; real ID.
• CAC, Tier1/NACI background eligibility; willingness to travel up to 75%.
• Travel up to 75% of the time; potentially longer deployments with approval.
• Background check and drug testing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify equipment and materiel turned in from Army units.
• Check turn‑in documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist inspection and condition coding of items before storage or disposition.
• Coordinate staging and movement of items into designated warehouse or yard areas.
• Store, organize, and maintain items in warehouse locations per DA PAM 710‑2‑1 and AR 735‑5.
• Perform location surveys, bin checks, and cyclic inventories.
• Maintain segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, HAZMAT, and sensitive items.
• Support preparation for PARs and audits.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other MHE safely.
• Ensure safe handling of hazardous materials and comply with regulations.
• Package, label, and prepare equipment for shipment or redistribution.
• Input and update property transactions in GCSS‑Army, DPAS, or LMP.
• Maintain warehouse logs and daily activity records; assist audits.
• Provide support to unit supply personnel delivering equipment; resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate with transportation for outbound shipments; travel as required.
