Job summary

Akima, LLC is seeking a Warehouse Specialist to perform receiving, storage, accountability, and distribution for Army equipment turn-ins at Fort Carson. This role ensures documentation, staging, storage, and safeguarding of equipment per Army regulations, OSHA standards, and contract requirements, supporting the supply team.

The position emphasizes accurate inventory, adherence to DA PAM 710-2-1/AR 735-5, and operation of forklifts/MHE, with travel up to 75% and potential extended deployments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; experience may substitute.
• 2–4 years of warehouse, supply, or logistics experience (Army or contractor preferred).
• Familiarity with Army turn-in and supply procedures highly desirable.
• Army supply/property accountability regulations (AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-21).
• Army logistics systems (GCSS-Army, LMP, DPAS).
• Material handling and warehouse safety practices.
• Ability to read Army documentation (DA and DD forms).
• Forklift/MHE operation certification (OF 346) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify equipment and materiel turned in from Army units.
• Check turn-in documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist in inspection and condition coding before storage or disposition.
• Coordinate staging and movement of items into designated warehouse or yard areas.
• Store, organize, and maintain items in warehouse locations per DA PAM 710-2-1 and AR 735-5.
• Perform location surveys, bin checks, and cyclic inventories to maintain accountability.
• Maintain segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, HAZMAT, and sensitive items.
• Support PARs and audits preparation.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other MHE.
• Ensure safe handling of hazardous materials.
• Assist in packaging, labeling, and preparing equipment for shipment.
• Input and update property transactions in GCSS-Army, DPAS, or LMP.
• Maintain logs and daily activity records.
• Support audit readiness through ISO 9001:2015.
• Provide assistance to unit supply personnel delivering equipment.
• Resolve discrepancies in documentation and coordinate corrections.
• Support coordination with transportation personnel for outbound shipments.
• Employees may be required to perform other duties.
