Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer in Dallas, TX to protect campuses and adjacent facilities. You will perform regular patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents while delivering excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

The role requires an armed guard license, at least 6 months of security experience, and the ability to work overnight shifts. A background check and drug screening are part of the process, with CPR preferred and a HS diploma or

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and coordinate with campus personnel and responders as needed.
• Perform regular armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and activity, report suspicious behavior, and document incidents per procedures.
• Adhere to professional firearm handling and post procedures in accordance with laws and Allied Universal guidelines.

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Tue 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Wed 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Thur 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Fri 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus personnel and/or public emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and activity throughout assigned areas, report suspicious behavior, and document incidents according to site-specific procedures.
• Maintain professional firearm handling practices and comply with applicable laws, licensing requirements, and Allied Universal armed post procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
