Job summary

Allied Universal in Dallas, TX is seeking an Armed Security Officer (Part Time Patrol Communications) to monitor and protect campus facilities. The position offers flexible day and overnight shifts, a $19.00 hourly rate, and opportunities to engage with students, staff and visitors while enforcing site policies and emergency procedures.

As a member of Allied Universal's security team, you will complete patrols, respond to incidents, manage access points, and document observations.

Qualifications

• 6 months of security-related experience.
• Armed guard card or license.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law and company policy.
• Drug screen may be administered.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security procedures and emergency responses.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas.
• Respond to incidents and coordinate with campus contacts and emergency services.
• Monitor access points, assist with visitor direction, and report unauthorized entry.
• Prepare clear and accurate incident and patrol reports.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus contacts and public emergency services as needed.
• Monitor access points and assist with access control procedures, visitor direction, and reporting of unauthorized entry or suspicious activity.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, patrol observations, and daily activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
