Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Security professional to provide vigilant security services for staff and visitors at UAB St. Vincent's Blount. You will monitor for threats, respond promptly to incidents, and document events while following alarm and disaster-preparedness procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
• Perform proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
• Investigate, document and manage security incidents and hazards.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures for alarms and disaster preparedness; help conduct drills.

• Department: Security
• Schedule: Saturday - Sunday (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM), Monday - Tuesay (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM), and Wednesday (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) (Off Days Thursday and Friday)
• Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Blount

Job Description

Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.

• Perform proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
• Investigate, document and manage security incidents and hazards.
• Maintain knowledge/follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. May facilitate planned drills and simulations.
• Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
• Operates in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart
  Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• In state (Alabama) concealed carry weapons permit required.
• Drivers License credentialed from the Alabama Department of Motor Vehicles required.
• Security Professional preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
