Armed Protective Security Officers (PSO) - Washington, D.C.

We are accepting applications for Full-time and Part-time Armed Protective Service Officers (PSO) in Washington, D.C. This essential role requires professionalism and a commitment to protecting our sites, staff, and clients.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

• Protect principals against threats
• Control access to federal buildings, verify employee and visitor identities, monitor security equipment, conduct patrols
• Monitor surveillance cameras for disruptions or unlawful activities
• Report daily activities and incidents
• Operate magnetometers and X-ray machines
• Use communication devices effectively
• Respond to emergencies with listening and service skills
• Perform CPR or first aid as needed
• Maintain credentials as per contract
• Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 21 years old
• U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident with honorable discharge from U.S. Armed Forces
• Social Security Card issued by SSA
• 2+ years armed security experience or 1+ year law enforcement experience
• Honorable discharge from U.S. Armed Forces
• Fluent in English, capable of report writing
• Qualified with revolver or semi-automatic firearm
• Strong security industry knowledge
• Excellent communication skills
• Customer service mindset

Physical Demands

• Perform duties requiring standing, walking, sitting, and stooping for long hours
• Remain calm and clear in stressful situations
• Stay alert for up to 12 hours
• Subdue or intervene with potentially violent individuals
• Occasional running, lifting, climbing stairs

Education & Certification

• High School Diploma/GED
• MD Security Guard Certification Unarmed
• MD Armed Guard Card
• CPR/American Red Cross Certification
• Various security and firearms training certifications
