Armed Protective Security Officers (PSO) - Washington, D.C.

BTI Security is seeking experienced security professionals for Full-time and Part-time Armed Protective Service Officer (PSO) positions in Washington, D.C. This essential role involves protecting personnel and property at federal sites, ensuring safety protocols, and responding effectively to incidents.

Responsibilities include:

• Protecting principals against threats
• Controlling access to federal buildings, checking IDs, monitoring security equipment, and patrolling interior and exterior areas
• Monitoring surveillance cameras and reporting incidents
• Using magnetometers and X-ray machines
• Communicating via two-way radios
• Performing CPR or first aid as needed
• Maintaining credentials and performing other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 21 years old
• U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident with honorable discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces
• Social Security Card issued by SSA
• Two years armed security experience or one year law enforcement experience
• Honorable discharge from U.S. Armed Forces
• Fluent in English, able to write reports, qualify with firearms
• Strong security knowledge, excellent communication, customer service mindset

Physical Demands include:

• Prolonged walking, standing, and stooping
• Clear speech and calmness in stressful situations
• Ability to remain alert for up to 12 hours and respond quickly to emergencies
• Occasional running, lifting, and climbing

Education & Certification: High School Diploma/GED, MD Security Guard Certification (Unarmed & Armed), CPR, Weapons Detection, Baton, Firearms Qualification, among others.
