Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have completed a certified police academy (PTI or equivalent).
• Must maintain employment with a local police department in good standing and be approved for off-duty work.
• Proficiency with protective equipment, restraints and firearms.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies and incidents with escalation of force per protocol.
• Observe, report, and secure MMC property, staff, patients, and visitors.
• Perform periodic site tours to identify hazards and check security devices.
• Preserve order and enforce laws, regulations, and directives for staff, patients, visitors, and premises.
• Patrol on foot or vehicle; check for unsafe conditions, unlocked doors, and security violations.
• Report incidents or suspicious activity to DMH Security shift leader or Decatur Police department as appropriate.
• Prepare logs and reports as required; complete annual CBL modules.
• Perform other related work as required.
