Job summary

Walden Security is seeking experienced Court Security Officers (CSOs) to provide armed security for courthouses under the USMS contract.

Responsibilities include guarding entrances, roving and stationary posts, escorts for judges and court personnel, traffic control, and enforcing federal law. Applicants must have a GED, 3+ years as a certified law enforcement officer, DOJ clearance, and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Must have completed or graduated from certified law enforcement training academy.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must obtain DOJ clearance.
• Arrest authority within previous seven years.

Responsibilities

• Enforce District entry and identification system and operate screening equipment.
• Patrol court facilities and grounds as directed by post orders.
• Stand at stationary posts monitoring CCTV and security systems.
• Provide armed escort services for judges, court personnel, jurors and other designated individuals.
• Direct traffic and control parking on court facility properties.
• Detain individuals attempting unauthorized access to Government property or court proceedings.
• Prepare reports on labor hours, incidents, or other contract performance issues.
• Secure unattended courtrooms and test security devices prior to proceedings.
• Provide protection to court proceedings and enforce court rules.
