Job summary

Walden Security is seeking experienced Court Security Officers (CSOs) to provide armed security at courthouses under USMS contract. Responsibilities include entrance control, roving patrols, and securing courtrooms.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED, 3 years of verifiable law enforcement or military experience, valid driver’s license, DOJ clearance, and the ability to pass a background check. Must be 21+, read/write/speak English, and meet medical standards.

Qualifications

• Education or experience required as stated: HS diploma/GED.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Driver's license with clean five-year record; DOJ clearance; certified law enforcement training.
• Must be at least 21 years old; pass drug screen and background check.
• Medical standards per US Marshals Service; accommodations possible.

Responsibilities

• Perform entrance control: screen for weapons and contraband.
• Roaming patrol of court facilities and grounds.
• Monitor stationary posts including CCTV and alarms in court areas.
• Provide armed escort duties for judges and court personnel as needed.
• Direct traffic and manage facility lighting where applicable.
• Detain individuals attempting to breach security; enforce federal law.
• Prepare reports on incidents, accidents, or security issues.
• Secure unattended courtrooms and test security devices prior to proceedings.
• Maintain order and protect court proceedings as circumstances dictate.
