Job summary

Walden Security is seeking experienced Court Security Officers to provide armed security to courthouses under the USMS contract in Rutland, Vermont. Officers will enforce entry controls, monitor security systems, and escort court personnel as needed.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED, at least three years of verifiable law enforcement experience, a valid driver’s license, DOJ clearance, and be able to pass pre-employment screenings.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak English fluently.
• High school diploma or GED required; verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or equivalent within last 7 years.

Responsibilities

• Enforce entry control and screening to detect prohibited items.
• Conduct roving patrols of court facilities and adjacent grounds.
• Monitor stationary posts including CCTV and alarm systems.
• Provide armed escort duties for judges and court personnel.
• Direct traffic and manage access at court facility properties.
• Deter unlawful acts and protect government employees and property.
• Prepare incident and performance reports as required.
• Secure unattended courtrooms and test security devices.
• Maintain courtroom order and enforce federal and local rules.
