Job summary

DMS Facility Services is seeking an Area Supervisor to oversee cleanliness and maintenance of buildings within a specified geographic area. You will supervise Foreman, Leads, Janitors and Waxers, schedule special requests, and ensure equipment and supplies are available for the crew.

You will oversee hiring and training of new employees, manage time sheets, and coordinate safety meetings while ensuring timely payroll processing.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate records of the time sheets, inventory, and work schedules.
• Communicates with workers and conducts meetings.
• Visits work sites per shift as needed.
• Picks-up and delivers materials, as needed.
• Communicates with customers regarding work issues.
• Will order and obtain necessary supplies and contact workers directly.
• Maintains accurate logs of inventory.
• Must respond to situations immediately.
• Receives special requests work orders from operations manager and schedules the janitors for waxing, carpet cleaning and special requests.
• Hires and trains new employees.
• Schedules temps for vacationing employees and/or absentees.
• Assures all buildings have the necessary equipment, logbooks, uniforms and supplies.
• Authorizes and monitors vacation request.
• Receives injury reports.
• Investigates and reports in writing and verbally to the Director of Claims all work related injuries.
• Responsible for safety meetings, conducts them monthly.
• Reports outcome of meetings to corporate office in report form.
• Responsible for review and confirm employee are paid accordingly.
• Reviews and assure all time sheets and hours are collected and submitted on a timely manner.
• Turns this information in to the Payroll Administrator.
• Authorizes overtime.
• Provides written warnings for disciplinary problems.
• Makes sure disciplinary process is conducted appropriately.
• Conducts periodic inspections of buildings, at random.
• Visits 5 to 6 buildings per shift.
• Drives a company vehicle and carries a cell phone.
• Assist with special projects requested by Management and the Company
• Responsible for conducting and overseeing monthly safety meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
