Job summary

DMS Facility Services is seeking an Area Supervisor for the San Diego Metropolitan Area. This full-time, on-site role oversees daily facility services operations across multiple client locations, supervising cleaning and maintenance teams, assigning tasks, and ensuring work meets standards.

You will monitor quality, manage schedules, and ensure safety and compliance across sites. Regular site visits and client communication are required, along with coordinating with management on improvements

Role Description

The Area Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in the San Diego Metropolitan Area, responsible for overseeing daily facility services operations across multiple client locations. This role includes supervising cleaning and maintenance teams, assigning tasks, and ensuring work is completed to company standards and client expectations. The Area Supervisor will monitor quality, manage schedules, and support adherence to safety, environmental, and compliance procedures. The position involves regular site visits, communication with clients to address service issues or requests, and coordination with management to implement process improvements. The Area Supervisor will also assist with training new team members, tracking inventory and supplies, and preparing basic reports on performance and service outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising teams in facilities services, janitorial, maintenance, or related operations.
• Ability to plan work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor performance across multiple locations.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to balance client needs and daily operational demands.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, team members, and management.
• Working knowledge of safety, environmental, and compliance practices in facility services.
• Comfort using basic technology tools (smartphone, email, scheduling apps, and reporting tools).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for frequent site visits within the San Diego area.
• Prior experience in a supervisory or lead role; experience in large, multi-site operations is a plus.
• Ability to work on-site, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting as required by the role.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in facilities management is beneficial.
