Job summary

PetSmart's Area Pet Trainer is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while delivering positive experiences and upholding the company’s vision and values. They lead training for Pet Training Instructors across an assigned group of stores, actively educating pet parents on the benefits of our curriculum.

The role includes training new instructors, providing performance feedback to District and Store Leaders, and maintaining paperwork and class schedules to ensure a high-quality

Qualifications

• Certified PetSmart Training Instructor Course
• At least 1 year of PetSmart training experience
• 2+ years of retail experience in a customer-facing environment
• Schedule flexibility including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Proficiency with common computer applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to stay composed and solve problems under pressure

Responsibilities

• Actively sell training classes in store, over the phone and online.
• Educate pet parents about the benefits of the entire pet training curriculum.
• Recognize associates for contributions to training sales.
• Schedule training classes as per Company expectations.
• Maintain all paperwork related to pet training.
• Teach classes at times that maximize participation.
• Train and certify new pet training instructors within the assigned stores.
• Provide feedback on accreditation progress to leadership.
• Attend additional education classes offered by the company.
