Job summary

PetSmart’s Pet Training Instructor engages with pet parents and pets, educating them on the benefits of our training program and delivering services per our curriculum. You will actively seek pets and owners to enroll in classes and uphold the company’s vision and values.

The role requires 1–2 years of retail experience, accreditation as a PetSmart Training Instructor, and strong communication skills. You will work in-store with a focus on safety, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of retail experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Accredited in PetSmart Training Instructor Course.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Sell training classes in store, over the phone and online.
• Educate pet parents about the benefits of the training curriculum.
• Create a safe environment for people and pets in classes and store areas.
• Maintain training paperwork and records.
• Act as subject matter expert for training benefits at the location.
• Schedule training classes per company expectations.
• Assist in other departments as required and follow policies.
• Recognize associates for their contributions to selling pet training.
