Job summary

PetSmart’s Area Pet Trainer is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while delivering positive experiences and upholding PetSmart’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. The Area Pet Trainer will train all existing and new Pet Training Instructors for their assigned areas and actively educate pet parents on the benefits of pet training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year PetSmart training experience.
• 2+ years of retail customer service experience.
• Accredited in PetSmart Training Instructor Course.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.

Responsibilities

• Actively sell training classes in store, over the phone and online.
• Connect with pet parents to educate them about the benefits of our training curriculum.
• Train and certify all new pet training instructors within the assigned group of stores.
• Provide feedback on progress of the accreditation process to leadership.
• Maintain all paperwork related to pet training.
• Maintain a safe and clean training environment and assist with POS operations as needed.
