Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Area Manager in Monroe, OH to lead a team of hourly staff and drive safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You will engage the team during shifts to meet customer delivery promises and coordinate with Safety, Engineering, and HR to achieve goals.

Responsibilities include mentoring staff, maintaining productivity, and ensuring quality outcomes while adapting to site variations in the first to last mile workflow.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees
• Experience with process improvements (Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma)
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, HR to meet objectives
• Lift up to 49 pounds and perform related physical tasks
• Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts
• Work in variable temperature and noisy environments
• Climb and descend stairs at sites with stairs
