Job summary

OnTrac in Romeoville, IL is seeking an Area Manager to lead all sort activities within the facility, optimize workflow, and drive safety and quality improvements. You will report to the Operations Manager and supervise a team of Handlers and Leads to meet daily targets.

The role requires 2+ years in logistics with leadership experience, strong data analysis and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• GED/Diploma required; BA/BS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in logistics/shipping/3PL with at least 1 year in leadership.
• Ability to summarize data and present answers.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office and math skills.
• Effective communication including giving constructive feedback.
• Experience with hiring, training, motivating, disciplining, and evaluating employees.

Responsibilities

• Manage and schedule a team of Package Handlers and Lead Handlers in an assigned area.
• Monitor progress, provide feedback, address performance/attendance.
• Conduct pre-sort meetings; communicate daily goals and safety priorities.
• Record and manage departures/arrivals and flow of volume from Linehauls.
• Execute safety training, operational audits, and end-of-shift reporting.
