Job summary

Designer Brands is seeking a DC Area Manager - 1st Shift for its New Jersey distribution center. You will supervise 15–20 order processors and/or power equipment operators, oversee multiple activities across shifts, and drive daily execution and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include coaching leaders, ensuring safety and efficiency, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet company goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred.
4+ years in supervisor/manager roles overseeing 15+ associates.
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Lean/Six Sigma methodology knowledge.

Responsibilities

Oversee subordinates and multiple activities within a department and/or shift (Receiving, Case Pick/Putaway, Case Loops, Order Processing, Shipping, Ship Sort, Inventory Control, Wave Management).
Coach and train department leaders; provide ongoing coaching for growth and performance.
Coordinate with Facilities Manager on safety, security, and building control.
Manage transactions, exceptions, planning, and distribution flow.
Prioritize and monitor order completion to meet deadlines.
Track productivity to meet standards and projections.
Communicate with internal/external customers; coordinate with vendors.
Build relationships across distribution center functions.
