Job summary

Cenovus Toledo Refinery seeks a Manager, Area Maintenance to serve as the single point of accountability for maintenance within their assigned asset area. You will lead shutdowns, ensure budget transparency, and drive proactive maintenance to improve reliability and safety.

The role requires 12+ years in maintenance/engineering, a mechanical engineering degree or journeyman license, and strong contractor relations. Union knowledge and refinery exposure are valued assets.

Qualifications

• 12+ years experience in relevant maintenance execution and engineering activities.
• Background in maintenance and/or capital project execution, contractor relations, and exposure to plant/refinery operation.
• Breadth of experience including some commercial, project, turnaround, or similar non-technical experience.
• Ability to understand the Union-Company Collective Bargaining Agreement and make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of planned and unplanned unit shutdowns, including worklist, job plan and critical path development.
• Act as single point of accountability for maintenance in the assigned asset area.
• Ensure annual maintenance budget is transparent and controlled, minimize spend through efficiencies.
• Facilitate multi-bid efforts from outside contractors for larger scopes as needed.
• Drive proactive maintenance, backlog management, scheduling and asset reliability improvements.
• Oversee safety, environment and housekeeping; promote safe, reliable operations.
