Reporting Line

This position reports to the Service Manager.

Your role and responsibilities

This position is dedicated to managing field service projects in the US North Region. The Area Field Project Manager (AFPM) will ensure safe, efficient, profitable, and effective project execution aligned with ABB Electrification Service (ELSE) performance goals.

The work model for this role is remote, with the ideal living location in the Northeast region.

You will be mainly accountable for managing service projects including:

• HSE compliance (SDSP, PICW), ordering materials, managing deliveries, finding vendors for special needs, receiving materials in SAP, tracking materials from vendors, and documenting customer and test reports.
• Developing project schedules including labor, delivery of drawings, execution in the shop, on-time shipment, and invoicing coordination.
• Tracking and owning all profits and costs for the project, working closely with finance and service directors to update forecasting tools, and responsible for quotations, change orders, and schedule changes.
• Managing customer relationships and serving as the primary contact for project-related matters, including technical inquiries and concerns.
• Supporting and owning all aspects of the project to enhance margins and minimize risks.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business preferred, with 5 years of relevant experience preferred; alternatively, a combination of education and experience.
• Project management experience required; PMP certification is a plus.
• Practical experience with SAP, MS Office suite.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience working with diverse cultural environments.
• Must have work authorization to work in the US.
