Area Field Service Project Manager

Reporting To: Service Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

This position is dedicated to managing field service projects in the US North Region. The Area Field Project Manager (AFPM) will ensure safe, efficient, profitable, and effective project execution aligned with ABB Electrification Service (ELSE) performance goals.

The work model for the role is remote, with the ideal living location in the Northeast region (#Li-Remote). This role contributes to the Electrification Service division.

You will be mainly responsible for managing service projects, including:

• HSE compliance (SDSP, PICW), ordering materials, managing deliveries, vendor management for special needs, receiving materials in SAP, tracking vendor deliveries, and documenting customer and test reports.
• Developing project schedules covering labor, drawings delivery, shop execution, on-time shipment, and invoicing coordination.
• Tracking and managing all project profits and costs, working closely with finance and service directors to update forecasting tools, and handling quotations, change orders, price adjustments, and schedule changes.
• Owning the customer relationship, serving as the primary contact for project-related matters, including technical inquiries and concerns, and coordinating technical issue resolution in the field.
• Supporting all aspects of the project to maximize shipped margin opportunities while minimizing risks.

Qualifications for the Role

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business preferred, with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and demonstrated accomplishments.
• Project management experience required; PMP certification is a plus.
• Practical experience with SAP, MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and other office software.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience working with diverse cultural environments in a global business context.
• Legal work authorization for employment in the US is required.
