Job summary

South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department is seeking a senior supervisor/administrator to mentor Area and Comprehensive Supervisors, oversee statewide programs, and drive performance improvements.

The role involves strategic collaboration with the Chief of Staff and CORE/Executive teams, with focus on staffing, budget adherence, and upward mobility through training and experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling, or Psychology.
• Six years of rehabilitation experience.
• Supervisor experience with SCVRD and statewide travel required.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and direct Area and Comprehensive Supervisors to improve employee performance.
• Assist with recruiting and hiring; maximize staff training and development.
• Coordinate with the Chief of Staff to meet statewide goals and program initiatives.
• Train new Supervisors for leadership transitions and area success.
• Oversee vacant Area and Comprehensive Supervisor roles.
• Participate in CORE and the Commissioner’s Executive Management teams.
• Ensure achievement of the Agency mission and oversee service delivery improvements.
• Guide Area Supervisors on managing area spending within budget.
• Coordinate with the Director of Field Operations to assess performance.
• Conduct routine visits to observe program performance and provide coaching.
• Submit Travel Activity Reports within the designated timeframe.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
