Arctic Field Engineer – Start-up & Commissioning

Job summary

NANA Worley is seeking a Rotational Start-up Engineer to provide field support for Operations, Maintenance, Design and Construction from pre-IFA through construction to turnover. The role is based on North Slope Alaska with a 12-hour shift and a 2-week rotation, reporting to the Facility Engineer Supervisor in Anchorage.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with experience in Oil & Gas, plus familiarity with North Slope facilities and ability to work in Arctic conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2 years of experience required; or 5 years Oil & Gas experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience in North Slope Alaska preferred.
• Familiarity with North Slope Alaska facilities including drill sites preferred.
• Experience in Arctic/cold weather environment preferred.
• Ability to read a basic P&ID and perform walk downs.
• Basic knowledge of Industry Codes, Standards, and Recommended Practices.
• Ability to work independently without direct field supervision.
• Ability to prioritize and execute multiple assignments in a changing environment.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in tight/noisy/dimly lit areas.
• Willingness to communicate with Operators, Project Leads and Facility Engineers.
• Ability to navigate SAP, KMS, etc.
• Ability to drive and work outside in cold Arctic environment.

Responsibilities

• Walk down P&IDs to ensure accuracy or resolve discrepancies.
• Sign-off for mechanical completions during project phases.
• Complete commissioning, startup and turnover forms.
• Provide engineering support and constructability feedback to Operations.
• Track RFIs to inform design changes.
• Assist procurement to identify vendor support and spares.
• Create/manage MOCs for all project phases and assign tasks.
• Audit PHAs and PPRs before equipment startup.
• Evaluate field changes affecting the PHA.
• Develop commissioning/startup and Preventative Maintenance plans.
• Ensure turnover documentation flow is complete.
• Track punch lists to Operations standards.
• Coordinate with Automation for information and FCO schedule.
• Verify operator-setpoints with Board Operators and Automation Engineers.
• Mark up drawings, troubleshoot post-startup, support project closeout.
