Job summary

Polar Field Services, Inc. seeks a Construction Superintendent to lead remote Arctic field projects across Alaska, Greenland and the Arctic. The role emphasizes hands-on field leadership, planning, logistics, safety, and collaboration with engineering and project teams.

You will spend significant time in remote environments, manage crews, and contribute to planning, estimating, scheduling, and long-range project needs while remaining adaptable to changing conditions.

Qualifications

• 7 years of journeyman-level construction experience.
• At least 3 years in a foreman or supervisory role.
• Experience in commercial, industrial, or residential construction.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field crews of 1–20 people, including foremen and multiple trades.
• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and supervise seasonal staff.
• Plan daily work, set priorities, delegate tasks, and keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
• Lead daily tasking and safety meetings and reinforce a strong safety culture.
• Track progress, schedules, labor, materials, and issues; report to Project Management.
• Execute work per approved plans, specs, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, design, operations, and PM teams to resolve constructability concerns.
• Prepare and manage RFIs, field verifications, redlines, as-builts, inspections, turnover.
• Develop project scopes, work plans, labor estimates, material estimates, sketches.
