Job summary

Polar Field Services is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead field construction and maintenance work at remote Arctic stations and field camps across Alaska, Greenland, and the Arctic. You will manage crews in challenging environments, contribute to planning, estimating, scheduling, and logistics, and sometimes push safety and quality programs in the field.

This role is ¾-time (about 30 hours/week on average) with deployments up to 18 weeks.

Qualifications

• 7 years journeyman-level construction experience.
• At least 3 years as foreman or supervisor.
• Experience in commercial, industrial, or residential construction.
• OSHA 30-hour certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Current, valid U.S. passport.
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
• Authorization to work in the United States; PFS does not sponsor work visas.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field crews of 1-20 people.
• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and supervise seasonal construction staff.
• Plan daily work, set priorities, delegate tasks, and keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
• Lead daily tasking and safety meetings and reinforce a strong safety culture.
• Track project progress, schedules, labor, materials, and potential issues; provide regular updates to Project Management.
• Prepare and manage RFIs, field verification, redlines, as-built documentation, inspections, deficiency tracking.
