Job summary

MISTRAS Group seeks an Electrician – Heat Trace Isolation / CUI Support to back corrosion under insulation inspections on Alaska's North Slope. The role centers on safely isolating, de-energizing, and restoring electric heat tracing systems to enable CUI crews to inspect, maintain, and repair equipment.

When not isolating, you’ll assist electronics technicians, support CUI refurbishment, NDT inspections, and other maintenance while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• State Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years industrial electrical experience.
• Experience with electric heat tracing systems.
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet driving requirements.
• Ability to work a rotational schedule on Alaska's North Slope.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical energy isolation and restoration of heat tracing systems per procedures.
• Verify zero-energy states and document isolation activities.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, inspection to support work.
• Read heat tracing schematics and single-line diagrams.
• Troubleshoot heat tracing systems and identify deficiencies.
• Assist planning to ensure timely access for CUI inspections.
• Assist commissioning and verification after restoration.
• Maintain records of isolations, testing, repairs.
• Follow safety standards, lockout/tagout, client procedures.
• Assist electronics techs with instrumentation and electrical maintenance.
• Assist insulation removal/refurbishment when not required.
• Support NDT inspections as directed.
• Participate in safety meetings and JSA.
• Maintain tools and test equipment in safe condition.
• Respond to urgent assignments as needed.
• Perform other duties to support CUI program.
