Job summary

MISTRAS Group is seeking an experienced Scaffold/Line Lift Technician to support Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) operations at Alaska's North Slope. This role leads field activities, mentors Insulation Technicians, and ensures safe, productive work within a demanding industrial environment.

The ideal candidate has CUI/OQ experience, Alaska certifications, and a track record in scaffolding, insulation, and line lift operations.

Qualifications

• Completion of NSTC training.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
• Minimum of 2 years of CUI experience in the oil and gas industry.
• North Slope experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of practical experience using hand and power tools.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a physically demanding position.
• Current Asbestos Abatement Certification through the State of Alaska.
• Current Building Inspector AHERA Certification through the State of Alaska.
• Ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written English.
• Ability to perform job duties while wearing a half-face or full-face respirator.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide field leadership and coordinate daily tasks to ensure safe, efficient, and productive work execution.
• Perform asbestos abatement on process piping in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Submit chain-of-custody documentation for RACM per Alaska requirements.
• Submit Daily Compliance Logs for each stripping activity per Alaska regulations.
• Erect and dismantle non-engineered Systems Scaffold.
• Build crib stacks per Engineered Lift Form.
• Construct temporary support structures for line lifting.
• Perform line lifts using airbags, lift jacks, rigging, cranes.
• Maintain OQ certification when required for line lifts/insulation tasks.
• Collaborate with ConocoPhillips operators, CUI Leads, Inspectors, and contractors.
• Serve as a technical resource between field crew and Inspector.
• Review project plans and ensure tools/equipment/resources are available.
• Prioritize daily tasks with Inspector for safety and efficiency.
• Monitor progress using tracking systems (JINs).
• Identify opportunities to reduce downtime and waste.
• Mentor Insulation Technicians through on-the-job training.
• Promote safety programs and teamwork.
• Lead by example in hazard recognition and controls.
• Maintain crew safety and quality accountability.
• Coordinate with HAK Inspectors on daily scopes with safety focus.
• Work with client representatives to align requirements.
• Perform sheet metal and insulation fabrication.
• Safely operate standard shop equipment.
• Maintain tools/equipment in safe condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the CUI Support Lead.
