Ring & DuChateau Consulting Engineers seeks a Processing Archivist to organize, preserve, and provide access to historical records and digital assets. You will evaluate collections, describe materials, and maintain inventories to support research and institutional memory.

The role involves collaboration with records management teams, IT staff, and historians, ensuring compliance with policies and standards while enhancing retrieval efficiency and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field and strong organization skills required.
• Experience with archival processing, records management, or library services preferred.
• Ability to classify, describe, index, and maintain physical and digital records accurately.

Responsibilities

• Process Archival Collections: Review, organize, arrange, and describe archival collections following standards.
• Inventory and Classification: Create inventories, finding aids, and catalog records for retrieval.
• Preservation and Conservation: Apply preservation procedures to minimize deterioration.
• Digital Records Management: Organize, digitize, and maintain electronic records and digital assets.
• Metadata and Documentation: Develop descriptive metadata and reference documentation.
• Quality Control: Ensure accuracy, labeling, and consistency of materials.
• Research Support: Assist researchers in locating historical information.
• Confidentiality and Compliance: Follow retention policies and privacy rules.
• Database Maintenance: Update archival databases and tracking systems.
• Workflow Improvement: Identify and implement processing improvements.
