Job summary

Rugby Architectural Building Products, a national wholesale distributor, seeks a Specification Representative to promote and develop pull-through demand for our non-structural architectural products. The role combines branch work, occasional remote work, and significant local travel calling on architects and engineering firms.

You will need architecture/design/construction background, proven sales or spec development experience, and strong communication skills to build long-lasting relationships

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-motivated and driven to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
• Willingness to travel regularly for customer visits, trade shows, and industry events.

Responsibilities

• Promote and sell our products to architects, designers, contractors, and other industry professionals. Serve as product manager for our entire product line to the A&D community.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the design and architecture communities to generate product specifications and drive sales growth.
• Collaborate with architects, designers, and specifiers to identify project requirements and provide tailored solutions using our full product line.
• Create and deliver compelling presentations and technical demonstrations to educate customers about the features, benefits, and applications of our products.
• Prepare and submit accurate and detailed product specifications for inclusion in project plans and specifications.
• Conduct regular site visits, attend industry trade shows, and participate in networking events to build brand awareness and expand the customer base.
• Conduct market research, staying up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments related to non-structural architectural lumber.
• Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to identify opportunities for product improvement or expansion, providing this insight and recommendations to management.
