Job summary

Tiello LLC is seeking an Architectural Designer focused on commercial masonry construction in Atlanta. The role involves developing masonry drawings in close collaboration with the VDC team, preconstruction, and project managers, for projects up to $30M.

The candidate should have 5+ years in design of masonry projects and strong detailing skills. Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, coordinating with estimating, and supporting presentations with clear visuals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in architectural drafting or design, ideally with masonry or a related field.
• Strong working knowledge of masonry materials, wall systems and details.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; rendering tools such as Enscape or Lumion are a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
• Experience preparing shop drawings and responding to review comments.

Responsibilities

• Develop masonry wall sections, details and system options (brick, block, stone, cast stone, veneer and support systems) for design-assist and negotiated pursuits.
• Review architectural drawings and specifications for masonry scope, constructability issues, missing details and conflicts, and flag them to Preconstruction.
• Prepare value-engineering and alternate-system options with the estimating team, showing the design and cost trade-offs.
• Support pursuit presentations with clear drawings, exhibits and visuals.
• Help maintain company drawing standards, templates, detail libraries and model families.

Tiello has partnered with a highly reputable commercial masonry contractor on their search for an Architectural Designer to focus on work in commercial masonry construction, managing projects ranging in value up to $30M.

Role Summary

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience designing commercial masonry projects and will be responsible for developing masonry drawings working closely with the VDC team, preconstruction, and project managers.

• Strong working knowledge of masonry materials, wall systems and details (brick, block, stone, veneer, flashing, anchors and support)
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; experience with rendering tools (such as Enscape, Lumion or similar) a plus
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings and specifications
• Experience preparing shop drawings and responding to review comments
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage several projects and deadlines at once
