Tiello is seeking an Estimator/Project Manager in the Greater Birmingham, AL area to join a reputable Commercial Masonry Contractor. The role focuses on preparing estimates and overseeing projects up to $25M, combining estimation with project management duties.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of masonry experience and a background in construction management, civil engineering, or related field. Travel and U.S. work eligibility are required.

Company Overview:

Tiello has partnered with a highly reputable Commercial Masonry Contractor in Alabama on their search for an Estimator/Assistant Project Manager to focus on work in the Commercial Masonry sector, working in a team to put together estimates and overseeing projects ranging in value up to $25M.

Role Summary:

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in masonry and will be responsible for compiling estimates for the cost of work by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Included in this will be the estimation of labor, material, equipment, and time requirements in order to compute the overall cost and duration of the project.

Project Types:

New Construction, ground-up masonry projects - High-End multifamily, hotels, Retail, Office Buildings, Hotels, Schools, Arenas, etc. ($10M-$50M)

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform all responsibilities of a Project Estimator including but not limited to the following:
• Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material pricing
• Propose value engineering options to reduce project cost
• Determine costs of labor, material, and equipment
• Push the evolution of the construction documents as necessary
• Prepare conceptual estimates
• Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules
• Submit requisitions for the purchase of materials
• Compare competitive specialist and material

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related is preferred.
• 3+ years Estimating projects for reputable General Contractors/Subcontractors
• Commercial Masonry Experience
• Willingness to travel or pass background/drug screen
• Eligibility to work in the U.S.
