Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking an Arborist Trainee for an on-site internship in Youngstown, OH. You’ll learn climbing and join a tree crew while progressively gaining skills in pruning, removal, and safety procedures, with hands-on work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and be paid to do it.
• Operate as a member of a tree crew while progressively learning new skills.
• Perform tree pruning and removal safely and skillfully for clients, including pruning, thinning and removing deadwood.
• Learn installation of cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, etc.
