The Davey Tree Expert Company is offering a Summer 2027 Arborist Trainee Internship. This full-time, temporary position is ideal for college students on summer break who want hands-on experience in tree care, plant health care, sales, and client services.

Starting date is flexible for Summer 2027. The role includes on-site work with paid hourly wages and opportunities for advancement and professional development through our extensive safety and training programs.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights (preferred).
• Ability to complete orientation and safety courses after hire.
• Licenses/certificates related to pesticides (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and work as part of a tree crew.
• Perform tree pruning and removal tasks safely.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws and aerial lifts.
