Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts in Bryson City, NC is seeking a full-time climber responsible for climbing, pruning and removing trees in line clearance work. The role requires at least one year of professional climbing experience and a valid driver's license is preferred.

You will follow safety protocols, inspect equipment, and assist in storm restoration projects while traveling as needed. The position offers medical, vision, dental insurance and the option to enroll in a 401K retirement plan.

Qualifications

At least one year of climber experience in line clearance.
High School diploma preferred.
Background check and drug screen required.
US work authorization (I-9) required.

Responsibilities

Climb, prune, and remove trees according to Foreperson’s directives.
Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; lift and feed brush into brush chipper.
Work from the ground using hand saws, pole saws, pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gas-powered chain saws.
Inspect and ensure proper working condition of all assigned tools and equipment.
Safeguard employees and public from hazards by enforcing safe job practices and keeping area clean.
Perform duties for storm work as needed.
