Job summary

BrightView Landscapes is seeking a Tree Climber I to perform basic tree care including pruning, cabling, bracing, lightning protection, and removals. You will support team efforts in site clearing, debris disposal, and operating equipment safely in ground and canopy positions.

The role requires climbing ability, adherence to PPE and safety standards, and capability to read and interpret safety rules, orders, and procedures. EHAP/First Aid/CPR certification is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience with basic tree care operations such as pruning and limb removal.
• Ability to interpret and follow safety procedures and company protocols.
• Ability to operate powered equipment safely (chippers, trucks, blowers).
• Basic to intermediate chainsaw skills and proficiency in both ground and canopy techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform tree care tasks including pruning and limb removal up to 60 feet tall.
• Access trees safely and move in canopy while minimizing damage or injury.
• Operate gear safely and efficiently (chippers, trucks, blowers).
• Use hand tools (saws, pole pruners, pole saws, rakes, shovels) to complete tasks.
• Maintain safe, organized work zones and follow PPE requirements.
• Communicate with climbers using hand signals and verbally with the public.
• Possess EHAP, First Aid and CPR certifications.
