The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an Arborist 1 to perform tree and plant care and maintenance under supervision. The role mainly follows first shift, with potential changes in hours and location; background check will be required.
A Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is required during probationary period. Join a campus landscape operations team and contribute to maintenance and safety across university facilities.
Job Title: Arborist 1 Department: Administration and Planning | FOD Operations Landscape Roads and Grounds
Job Description: Under direct supervision from supervisor or guidance from higher level staff, performs general tree and plant care, preservation, treatment, and maintenance. Works primarily first shift, but is subject to changes in shift, hours, days, and/or location as operations dictate; may work overtime; In accordance with the Disaster Preparedness and University State of Emergency Policy 6.17 this position has been designated as an essential position. Will require successful completion of a criminal background check.
Minimum Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED.
Minimum Required Qualifications: At least six (6) months of experience in arboriculture or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Upon employment, must pass and maintain current Class A commercial driver license with tanker endorsement within initial probationary period; also requires evidence of satisfactory driving record for insurability by the university.
Additional Information: The target hiring range for this job profile is 21.15-$29.09 per hour. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
