Bartlett Tree Experts in Roanoke, VA is seeking an Arborist to join our outdoor, safety-conscious team. You will perform ground, climbing, and lift duties while delivering tree care, pruning, removals, and health treatments.

We value safety, professional development, and opportunities for advancement. A state pesticide license is required or obtainable after hire; CDL preferred, year-round outdoor work possible.

Qualifications

• Passion for nature, environment, and outdoors.
• 1+ year of tree care experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather.
• State pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain after hire; exam cost covered.

Responsibilities

• Performing ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments.
• Safely performing all aspects of arboriculture: pruning, removals, cabling and bracing.
• Tree identification, risk assessments, root collar excavations, and equipment maintenance.
• Tree and shrub care treatments using spray, tree injection, and soil injection tools as prescribed.
• Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies.

Responsibilities

As an Arborist, you will play an important role in:

• Performing ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by the Arborist Crew Leader
• Safely performing all aspects of arboriculture, including:
  • Tree identification
  • Tree risk assessments
  • Pruning
  • Removals
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Root collar excavations
  • Properly maintaining and operating tools and equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
• Performing tree and shrub care treatments using spray, tree injection, and soil injection tools as prescribed by the Arborist Representative
• Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies

Qualifications

• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• At least one (1) year of experience in the tree care industry is preferred
• Valid driver's license (Class A/B CDL preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Valid state pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain following hire date - We will pay for the cost of the exam and help you prepare!
