Bartlett Tree Experts in Lynchburg, VA is seeking an Arborist Crew Leader to head a tree-care crew and perform services safely and efficiently. You will mentor teammates and ensure high-quality work.

Responsibilities include pruning, cabling, rigging, removals, equipment operation, and client communication. Candidates should have 3+ years climbing (DdRT/SRT) with aerial lift, and a valid license. We offer a safety-first culture, advancement, and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience.
• Valid driver’s license (Class B CDL preferred).
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely leading and performing all arboriculture tasks: pruning, cabling/bracing, rigging, removals.
• Operate and maintain equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts) and PPE.
• Lead and train crew; ensure safety and adherence to standards.
• Communicate with clients and Bartlett representatives; build relationships.

As an Arborist Crew Leader, you will play an important role in

• Safely performing and supervising all aspects of arboriculture, including
  • Pruning
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Rigging
  • Removals
  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
• Bringing a cooperative and enthusiastic attitude to the job site
• Supervising and managing crews while performing tree care services, as directed by the Arborist Representative and Local Manager
• Ensuring that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment
• Ensuring that all tree care work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards
• Communicating, answering questions, and building relationships with clients
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• At least three (3) years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience in the tree care industry
• Valid driver's license (Class B CDL preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, and self-motivated
