Job summary

Moran Shipping Agencies, Inc. is seeking an Accounts Receivable Manager to lead billing, collections, cash application, and reconciliations from our Providence, RI headquarters.

You will ensure timely cash collection and accurate AR aging while working with clients and internal teams to strengthen internal controls. The role requires supervisory experience, a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, and strong Excel/ERP skills to produce AR analyses and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• Prior supervisory or management experience.
• Experience resolving billing and payment issues with clients.
• Maritime industry experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable and accounting principles.
• Proficient accounting and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze financial information and prepare reports.
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and coordinates collection of Accounts Receivable for timely payments.
• Monitors aging and prioritizes collection efforts.
• Develops relationships with clients and principals to facilitate reconciliation of AR.
• Respects billing discrepancies and payment issues in coordination with clients and departments.
• Oversees accurate and timely application of customer payments and reconciliations.
• Prepares AR analysis, aging reports, and collection reporting.
• Monitors AR performance and identifies trends for process improvement.
• Supervises AR staff and provides training and feedback.
• Collaborates with Accounting, Operations to resolve issues.
• Supports AR policies and internal controls and ISO procedures.
• Assists in month-end and year-end close and audits.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
