Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates (HCEA) is seeking an Accounts Receivable/Collections Specialist to manage the full AR cycle, from new job approvals to collections. The role is based in Annapolis Junction, MD, with a focus on reducing delinquency and resolving billing issues.

The ideal candidate has at least five years in corporate collections and strong Excel/Office proficiency. Experience in construction/engineering helps, but is not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of corporate collections experience.
• Strong communication and analytical skills required.
• Billing/payment application experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing open accounts for collection efforts.
• Make outbound collection calls professionally.
• Establish relationships with client accounts payable and project managers.
• Resolve billing problems and monitor delinquency; ensure timely follow-up.
• Coordinate with Branch Managers and Sales to resolve disputes.
• Post payments and mail/email correspondence to encourage payment.
