Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti is seeking an Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist to join our Client Services Group in Chicago. You will follow up on outstanding project receivables, interact with project managers, and communicate with clients using the Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations system.

You will help build a center of excellence for AR work, develop skills, and collaborate with a diverse team locally and internationally. The firm offers mentoring and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience in collections or a similar role.
• Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation and accountability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• College degree or college credits in finance/accounting.

Responsibilities

• Contact clients by phone and email to inquire about outstanding AR and payment status.
• Collaborate with project managers to resolve AR payment delays.
• Research misapplied or unapplied client payments.
• Record balance status comments in AR system.
• Generate monthly aging reports for AR status meetings.
• Generate and distribute monthly payment reminders and collection letters.
• Respond to requests for copies of invoices, W-9s, and other documents.
• Maintain organized files for internal and audit inquiries.
